This episode was filmed at Aoba’s studio in Saijō City, Ehime Prefecture, on the island of Shikoku.  The production team focused on his creative approach and engagement with the natural environment of the region.

The program introduces Aoba’s life and artistic process in detail—from gathering local clay, to shaping pieces that incorporate religious symbolism, to firing them in a traditional wood‑fired kiln.

Aoba is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and many of his pieces incorporate imagery inspired by the “Tree of Life” described in the Book of Mormon.
