On Sunday, March 15, 2026, Brother Chad H Webb, First Counselor of the Sunday School General Presidency, addressed the members of the Gyeonggi Stake where he bore a powerful testimony of living prophets, the role of special witnesses, and the gradual growth of personal testimony through Jesus Christ. Members of the Gyeonggi Stake - including youth, young single adults, parents, and visiting leaders - experienced a deeply uplifting, Spirit-filled meeting centered on Jesus Christ.

In addition to prepared musical performances, the stake’s youth and young single adults voluntarily presented an FSY medley that powerfully conveyed their faith and testimony.

Brother Webb began by acknowledging the historic moment the Church will experience with the sustaining of a new President of the Church. He reflected on how unusual the most recent general conference had been, occurring shortly after the passing of the previous Church President and before the new President had been formally sustained.  He testified of the Lord’s pattern of teaching truth through prophets, that they are witnesses of Jesus Christ, and that their callings are evidence of God’s love.

Reflecting on the gathering, Sister Junhee Lee of the Suji Ward shared, “My heart was deeply warmed by Brother Webb’s message about the meeting with the Apostles, who bore powerful witness through the Holy Ghost that President Oaks is a true prophet.”

To help the youth understand that such spiritual confirmations are not new, Brother Webb turned to Church history. After the martyrdom of Joseph Smith, the Saints had never before experienced a transition to a new President of the Church. Many did not know how succession should occur. It was only after Brigham Young addressed the Saints that many recorded powerful spiritual manifestations - some seeing Joseph Smith’s likeness, others hearing his voice, and still others receiving quiet confirmation through the Holy Ghost. Brother Webb emphasized that while spiritual experiences may differ from person to person, the Holy Ghost has always provided a way for God’s children to know whom He has chosen to lead His Church.

Brother Webb then invited the youth to open the scriptures, teaching from Acts chapter 10. He pointed out a consistent pattern found throughout scripture: Heavenly Father chose Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ chose special witnesses; those witnesses testified of Him; and those who listened were given the opportunity to feel the Holy Ghost and choose whether to follow. Prophets and apostles, he taught, exist to testify of Jesus Christ. Without them, the world would not truly know Him. Quoting the Book of Mormon, Brother Webb reminded the youth that they are invited to “seek this Jesus of whom the prophets have testified,” emphasizing that living prophets are an expression of God’s love.

Brother Webb then shared key teachings from President Oaks’ first public address as President of the Church, given at Brigham Young University. He highlighted four invitations extended by President Oaks to help members stay close to God.

First, President Oaks taught the importance of strengthening faith daily through prayer and scripture study. Brother Webb likened daily spiritual nourishment to daily meals, explaining that consistent, small efforts matter more than occasional spiritual intensity. He encouraged youth to participate in seminary and institute and to study the scriptures individually and with their families.

Second, President Oaks emphasized humility. Brother Webb noted that President Oaks spent far more time speaking about humility than faith, underscoring its importance. He taught that when academic learning appears to conflict with gospel teachings, humility allows individuals to trust God, remain patient, and remember that revelation is ongoing. Brother Webb illustrated this principle through the example of the Savior at age twelve—possessing divine knowledge, yet still submitting Himself to His earthly parents.

Third, President Oaks invited members to seek help from others. Brother Webb shared a story of a successful stake president whose sincere testimony rekindled faith in a young man who had stopped attending church. The experience highlighted the importance of surrounding oneself with friends and mentors who strengthen faith and testify of truth.

Finally, President Oaks taught the principle of patience—both with others and with oneself. Brother Webb explained that everyone makes mistakes, and patience allows room for growth, repentance, and grace. He reminded the youth that Heavenly Father is patient with His children and understands their efforts to improve.

In closing, Brother Webb taught that testimonies most often grow gradually, like the rising sun, rather than suddenly, like flipping a light switch. While some scriptural accounts describe dramatic conversions, most individuals gain testimony through many small spiritual experiences over time. He shared his own lifelong journey of faith, explaining that his testimony has grown through stages of life - missionary service, marriage, parenthood, and years of Church service. Quoting Joseph Smith’s description of the First Vision, Brother Webb testified that the light of the gospel often “descends gradually” until it rests firmly in the heart.

Brother Webb concluded by bearing testimony of Jesus Christ, His Atonement and Resurrection, and God’s perfect plan of salvation. He expressed gratitude for living prophets who testify of the Savior and for the blessing of being members of the restored Church of Jesus Christ.

Elder Christopher H. Kim, First Counselor of the North Asia Area Presidency, shared from 1 Nephi 8, emphasizing the love of Jesus Christ as the fruit of the tree of life, sweet beyond all else. He also encouraged the youth, parents, and leaders “to continually invite others to partake of that love with patience, hope, and faith.”

One of the youth attending, Brother Song Yoon‑young, shared that he realized the main focus of Elder Kim’s message aligned with what he had prayed for in the opening prayer – “asking for help to make righteous choices”. He said, “This helped me understand how to look at situations differently and how to make better decisions going forward.”

The meeting concluded with an invitation to all members - especially youth and families - to continue choosing Christ daily, trusting that His love and promised blessings will always outweigh life’s challenges.
