A historic milestone has been reached for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mongolia.
During the leadership session of the April 2026 General Conference, 91 new Area Seventies were sustained. Among them is Odgerel Ochirjav, who becomes the first Area Seventy from Mongolia.
This moment marks an important new chapter in the growth and development of the Church in Mongolia and reflects years of faithful service, dedication, and leadership. Elder Odgerel previously served as the country’s first stake president and has played a vital role in strengthening the Church’s foundation.
Since first accepting the gospel, he has devoted many years to service, positively impacting the lives of thousands. He will have assignments in Korea, Japan, and Micronesia. His calling as an Area Seventy represents more than a leadership appointment—it stands as a source of pride, hope, and renewed faith for Latter-day Saints across Mongolia.
